Why is a flea market called so? Possibly from flea-infested old things being sold in some.
I have never gotten flea bites in any of the ones I’ve been to – a local swap meet, the others in Barcelona, Paris, San Francisco and New York.
But, now, RIGHT NOW, I am so itching to head out of the hills to a flea market!!!
Oh yes! I LOVE treasure hunting in flea markets, thrift shops, swap meets, even in the local ukay-ukay or “wagwagan'”as they call it in Baguio!
Our “new old house” already has an eclectic mix of new pieces, reconditioned pieces from our previous home, as well as the wonderful secondhand finds from flea markets.
Buying new pieces from the usual shops isn’t as fun as finding something fabulous where you least expect it! Sure, I love our new sectional sofa. But, I’m much more proud of the claw foot chair, tufted love seat, and metal alloy sculptural chair in our living room.
They added so much character to the room!
We didn’t find those in the usual mall shops!
So what am I lusting for now? Small pieces for entertaining and tablescapes!
We’re all set with the big pieces for now… It’s time to amp it up with details!!!
One thing that I’m certain of is that I can never do minimalist.
Not much fun. Too rigid. I will get so bored.
MAXIMALIST is so much more fun!!!
Rather than expound on what our style is, let me just show you what I will be hunting for!
Since I’m trapped in the hill, I checked out Etsy.com for vintage finds.
LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.
If it isn’t so risky to ship fragile goods, these babies would be in transit by now!
